USoP Softcover Proof Copy!

This thing is huge. I think I've held babies that didn't weigh this much. A part of me is afraid that, despite it being a softcover book, if I dropped it on my foot the wrong way I must just break something. I can't imagine how big and heavy the hardcover version will be.

Speaking of the hardcover version, I've gone back and forth with the Printer a couple times, and we still haven't managed to fix the issue; I assume this is just because of miscommunication and them being busy and so it will be sorted out soon, but I still can't give an ETA on the hardcover version. I am very, very sorry that you'll need to wait even longer as we figure this out, but I promise we're doing everything we can and one way or another we will get this sorted soon.

If you are getting one as a reward you should get the email from Drivethru RPG before the day is out; if that isn't the case, please let me know and we'll make sure it's taken care of. And as always, the book is available through Drivethru RPG if you or someone who didn't back this campaign would like to get their hands on one.

Physical copies... sort-of?

The softcover book has cleared the pre-production process and we're getting the proof sent to us. The hardcover, however, had something go wrong with it, and we're looking into it. I'm guessing it's a computer error (their automated system says it will cost $7,777.77 to print a proof copy), but I can't say whether that will take a few hours, days, or weeks to get sorted until they get back to us with more info.

I just wanted to let you know the state of things; I assume the error won't be too hard to fix, but just in case it isn't, there's a chance the softcovers will be mailed out much quicker than the hardcovers. We'll do everything we can, though, to try and get both out in a timely manner.

The Definitive Update, Hard Copies, and Spheres 5th Edition

We have just updated the Ultimate Spheres of Power PDF (ignore the update from last night; we quick caught some run-on issues this morning), and this will be the definitive version going forward. 

I know there are still rewards that need sorting out; the spheres cards are being worked on, and the physical books are still passing through the proofing process so we can get them made and sent out to you, but the big part, the great hurdle to seeing this project done, has finally been cleared. The rest shouldn't take too much time to sort out, and we'll have the GM screen and sphere cards ready for your perusal soon.

Realistically, it should take a couple of weeks for the book to clear the proofing process, and then a couple of week more to get the books actually printed and shipped. You should definitely get your physical books before the end of February, but how much before the end of February is hard to pin down; once we send the printing files to the printer, it's mostly out of my hands and I just have to wait until they tell me everything's ready.

Spheres of Power 5th Edition

Now that the book has been definitively updated and is heading for print, the big question becomes 'what next for the spheres system?'. The patreon is working tirelessly to expand the spheres system even further, but the question has always hung in the air of when we would be converting the Spheres system to new gaming systems. 

I'm here to announce that February 18th we will be launching the kickstarter to do a 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons conversion for both Spheres of Might and Spheres of Power!

This one is a bit of a risk, because while some people may play lots of different tabletop RPG systems, others do not; it's unclear how many of our previous backers are actually interested in a  would actually get much use out of a 5th edition spheres system. As such, even if you personally do not play 5th edition D&D, it would mean so much to us if you could spread the word and let your 5th-edition-playing friends and family know that the spheres system is awesome and they should definitely check out that kickstarter once it goes live.

It feels almost surreal to think that we've crossed the biggest hurdle in getting you Ultimate Spheres. I know I say this a lot, but thank you for giving us the chance to make this system a reality. PDF Away!!

THE PDF IS FINALLY OUT!

If you are owed a copy of the Ultimate Spheres of Power PDF, at the time of this posting you should have gotten an email from Drivethru RPG with your copy.

I feel a combination of relief and like I'm about to retch, but after months of work, it's finally here.

Because there's ALWAYS something I forgot, expect the PDF to be updated one time in about a week; if you discover a mistake in the book (something bolded that shouldn't be, something in the wrong format, etc.), please leave a comment here or in our discord, and we'll make sure to put it into the book.

Once that week is up, we will send this and (hopefully) everything else including the GM screens, cards, and more, to the printer, at which point we have nothing to worry about but to wait, make sure the proofs are good, then send you all your rewards!

I know I say this a lot, but thank you all so, so much for helping bring us to this point. We could never have gotten here if it weren't for you, and we appreciate it more than you can imagine!

It's so close to being done, there's just a little bit more that needs adjusting on spacing, placing images, and going back over everything to make sure we italicized all the right words. It really shouldn't take more than a couple more days, and I apologize and appreciate your patience. 

The book is looking wonderful; it also will be coming in at somewhere around 600 pages, so it can double as a large weapon if you're ever attacked on the way to or from a game.
